I have a Squid problem, what do I do?
What to do if you have a Squid problem depends a bit on the nature of the problem.
- Question on how to configure Squid should be sent to the Squid Users mailing list <squid-users@squid-cache.org>, but please check out the Squid FAQ, squid.conf.default and the ChangeLog or Release Notes first.
- For a quick guide covering the initial setup see the QUICKSTART document in the source distribution. If you have installed a binary RPM of Squid then documentation is most likely found in /usr/doc/squid-<version>/, and configuration files in /etc/squid/
- If you are seeing fatal: or assertion messages in cache.log, then please get a stacktrace of where it happens and file a Squid bug report in the bug database. For details on how to get a stack trace see the Squid FAQ section 11.19. Also remember to send the last few hundred lines up to the message from your cache.log.
- In all messages and reports, be sure to indicate the exact Squid version you are using (including any patches), and your operating system type + version.
